The Importance of Color and Floors When Selling A Home

The sellers had the foresight to know that to sell at competitive pricing, dated wallpaper needed to come down in the dining room, all walls needed a fresh coat of neutral paint, but most importantly, they needed to focus on flooring.  A patchwork of carpet in the dining room, living room and on the stairs combined with a timestamped honey-gold stain on the entry and hallway hardwoods, broke up and visually shrunk what is in reality a very large connected space, the first space buyers see when they come through the front door.

We added new nail down hardwood in the dining, living and on the stairs and refinished the wood that was already there.  By combining ebony with weathered oak in a magical combination, we were able to create a new color:  a rich, dark brown with just the slightest hint of grey, that did not go overly black.

We created a beautiful canvas for the new homeowners to make the home their own.  Kudos to them for making sophisticated and inviting selections.
