Don’t we all wish we could create a room from a clean slate. This client did.
A move from Kansas City to Roanoke provided an opportunity to “clean house”, literally. He donated, sold or left behind furniture and possessions for renters of his previous home, allowing him to start completely afresh in his brand new home.
His new style: Modern Rustic. Contemporary, yet comfortable and rich with natural textures. Nearly all items were sourced in the Dallas Design District: an inviting wool rug from Feizy; comfortable clean-line Theodore Alexander chairs; a timeless, bench-cushion Baker sofa; a sturdy concrete & iron end table; a unique repurposed wood and iron cocktail table; fabric from Kravet; statement accents from Arteriors, Uttermost and Currey & Company. “Power-shopped” to be in place when my client arrived in Texas.
The icing on the cake is his new, original commissioned art that tells a “generation’s story” of his family. So while starting afresh, his new home is rooted with history.
